Mr. Müller received a Master's Degree in electrical engineering at the Technical University of Applied Sciences in Rüsselsheim (Frankfurt am Main). He began his career at Motorola Semiconductor in 1987. In 1990 he joined AMS Electronic GmbH and managed the business sector of fiber optics. This sector became the AMS OptoTech as a result of a spin-off in the AMS Electronic Group, in 1992. At AMS OptoTech, Mr. Müller established a profit center for commercialization of fiber grating technology, which later became the AIFOtec AG. In 1994, Mr. Müller founded ADVA, and in 1999 led the company through one of the most successful IPO's on the new market. Today, ADVA Optical Networking has revenues in excess of 300 million.

Claus-Georg Müller left the operational board of ADVA in 2000 to become the CEO of AIFOtec AG, a company he founded together with Dr. Gunther Vollrath in 1998. In the beginning of 2002, AIFOtec AG was sold to Finisar Inc.,Sunnyvale CA, USA. In July 2002, he created AIFOTEC GmbH, as a management buyout, from Finisar Europe GmbH. In 2001 he founded mic GmbH and in 2006, mic GmbH transferred all of its business operations over to mic AG. With his many years of executive leadership experience in Opto-Electronics and Communication Technology Industries, Mr. Müller is currently responsible for all aspects of mic business including strategic direction, investor relations and company culture.
