AIFOTEC Fiberoptics GmbH is a service provider in the field of photonic components being used in the optic data communication market. Hereby the focus lies on the application of new assembly technologies for the reduction of footprint, costs and power dissipation. In contrast to other low cost production sites in Asia, AIFOTEC Fiberoptics GmbH possesses an expertise in the development and customization of components (HIT; Hybrid Integration Technology). The production is automated and allows for optimizing the components size and energy consumption – Green IT.

The focus on the mass market in fiberoptics has proven to be a successful one. The global market for so called “active optical cable” (AOC) will reach USD 2.5 bn in the year 2012. Global players like Intel, Sony or Apple will participate in these developments and replace coppertransactions-lines with fiberoptic parts and components (“light peak - technology”). AIFOTEC Fiberoptics GmbH plans to play an integral role in this process.

AIFOTEC Fiberoptics GmbH has secured a global market leader in the field of AOC as its customer, and has recently signed a frame contract with this firm.
